The Yellville-Summit Band Program provides the soundtrack for life at Y-S. Beginning Band is for first-time players in 6th grade or older high school students who opt to start band at a later time. The Beginning Band typically performs a concert at the end of each semester. Junior Band is comprised of students in grades 7 and 8 and have historically performed at the end of each semester, plus given special concerts for elementary students, and spread holiday cheer at Arvest bank's Christmas open house. Senior Band consists of students in grades 9-12. This is the group that marches at football games, performs on the square and in the Turkey Trot parade each year, performs patriotic music for the yearly Veteran's Day Assembly,  provides entertainment at basketball games, and performs a concert at the end of each semester. Graduation usually gives a unique look into the following year's band, as 8th grade students join the students in grades 9-11 to send the seniors off to the next chapter of their lives.

Individual opportunities for performance are always available as well: All-Region and All-State Bands are excellent ways for students to hone their musicianship skills and perform in a competitive environment. There are many opportunities available to students when they become a member of the Panther Band!
